Grace is a virtue that stems directly from our connection to the Divine. This implies that we understand that we are loved and provided for in all situations. To extend Grace to others is to make more room for Grace in our own lives.
Start with Yourself
Listening—truly listening is much harder than it sounds. When we listen to others, we often judge what they say or we are thinking of our response rather than really hearing the other person. In order to listen fully, we must practice non-judgment and mindfulness in the moment. To listen to someone—without judgment or condescension, without worrying about our response or seeking to give advice—is to give the gift of Grace to that person. In doing so we also make room for Grace in our own lives.
